Like many women, I spend a few minutes in front of a mirror every morning moisturizing every square inch of my skin – and so looking for cellulite. Like the peripheral growth phase, it’s annoying. However, the spoiler: cellulite is complete normal. You don’t have to love him because I really don’t like my tight thighs and nape, but it’s is natural. And just as you won’t be able to completely eliminate wrinkles, you can significantly improve its appearance with the best cellulite creams and knowledge.

What is cellulite?

Cellulite is the fat between your skin and muscle.

These fats are thought to push the strips of tissue that connect the skin to the muscles, causing the skin to become concave. Imagine the skin poking through the small holes in the tights and you get an image.

It’s also pretty integral because it’s for anyone, including Olympic athletes.

“Between 80 and 90 percent of women will experience cellulite at some point in their lives,” says the founder and medical director of Illuminate Skin and Wellness Clinics. Dr. Sophie Shotter.

What causes cellulite?

It’s a little harder to answer.

“Hormones play an important role, especially estrogen, the main female sex hormone, although we don’t know why yet,” says Shotter.

One theory is that estrogen can stimulate your body to produce more fat. Thus, an imbalance in estrogen and testosterone levels often causes cellulite. Taking the tablets also increases the chances of getting them.

Another theory is that cellulite worsens as women approach menopause due to a decrease in estrogen levels. “As estrogen levels decrease, fat cells become larger, making cellulite more visible,” says Shotter.

As we have already mentioned, this is still a gray area.

However, the reason women are more likely to develop cellulite than men is the structure of our collagen, the main protein that makes up connective tissue.

“The strips of women’s connective tissue are arranged vertically, so fat can accumulate in the pockets between them,” explains Shotter. “Men follow a cross-model, so it’s less likely.”

Genetics also plays an important role because your vulnerability to cellulite seems to be at least partially inherited.

“This may be due to genetic factors related to metabolic rate, subcutaneous fat distribution and ethnicity,” she added.

How to prevent exacerbation of cellulite?

There are several different treatments, from body brushes to the best cellulite creams and serums that help get rid of cellulite in some way. Our experience shows that the combination of roads usually leads to the biggest difference.

1. Body scrub

Use a body brush at least three times a week and then rub one of the best cellulite creams into your skin.

“Dry brushing can help improve blood circulation, help supply oxygen to affected areas, and promote collagen production,” says Shotter. “It also helps improve lymph drainage.”

Toxins that can accumulate in your fat layers and excess fluids are removed from your waste.

2. Massage

When applying cellulite cream, be sure to massage it to increase blood flow and reduce excess fluid in areas where cellulite is present.

It is also believed that rubbing the skin temporarily swells to make the canvas look smoother.

What ingredients to look for

Beware of caffeine or retinol.

“Caffeine increases blood flow to the affected area,” says Shotter. “It is also believed that it helps lipolysis – the process by which the body releases fat cells and the skin temporarily looks smoother. Retinol, meanwhile, helps increase collagen production over time.

And the thicker the skin, the less visible cellulite bumps will be visible.

Currently, experts suggest applying the cream first with retinol and then with caffeine.

Other key ingredients are L-carnitine, an amino acid that helps burn fat, and antioxidants that protect collagen. “In addition, centella asiatica increases blood circulation and allows for better absorption of nutrients,” says Shotter.

But don’t expect miracles right away. Stick to that and combine the cream with a low-salt diet, exercise to grow muscle and drink plenty of water to remove toxins.

After a few weeks, you’ll notice a stark difference.
