These wide flat hair straighteners gave me salon-worthy results in no time.
Not to be dramatic, but GHD Max hair straighteners changed my life. In my opinion, they are one of the best GHD hair straighteners you can buy. Why? Let me tell you a short story…
I’m a person with incredibly thick, relatively long and wavy hair that I wish I could always to put it in a bun before heading out the door because, frankly, I didn’t have time to spend 30-40 minutes in front of the mirror straightening each strand every morning.
Don’t get me wrong, I really wanted to wear my hair in different styles, but if I wanted to get to work on time, it just wasn’t an option. (Before I tell you anything, no, I didn’t want to wake up earlier just to tend to my locks.)
So when I heard about GHD Max, I was immediately intrigued.
These straighteners have wide plates that are 70% larger than GHD Original straighteners, so you can style larger sections of hair at once.
It was music to my ears, so I knew I had to try them. Scroll down to mine sincere review, along with all the information you might need…
How much do they cost?
GHD hair straighteners are more of an investment, but they are definitely worth it. The Max style retails at £199, but you can sometimes find great discounts online.
In fact, you can save over £40 on Lookfantastic right now, but you’d better hurry as this offer won’t last long.
How easy are they to use?
I won’t lie, these straighteners took some getting used to. Since the plates are much larger, they can feel a bit slick at first and I found it difficult to reach the roots of my hair. However, after a couple of days of using them, I started to find them much easier, and now I would practically consider myself a professional.
My advice? Be sure to part your hair properly to ensure you are straightening from root to tip.
What hair types are they for?
These hair straighteners have been designed with long, thick and curly hair types in mind. My hair isn’t the longest (yet), but it’s there very thick and has a natural wave.
Although I like to wear it naturally from time to time, I also like to straighten and curl it. Using GHD Max, I was able to straighten all my hair in just 15 minutes. Curling was just as quick and I was left with loose, beachy waves. A blessing.
What are their characteristics?
As mentioned earlier, these straighteners have wide plates that are 70% larger than the GHD Original straighteners. Ceramic floating plates are ultra-smooth with a glossy finish that helps eliminate creasing and adds extra shine.
Straighteners reach an optimal forming temperature of 185°C. Any hotter will damage the hair, and cooler and the hairstyle will be damaged. They heat up in just 30 seconds, so they’re ready to use in no time.
The cord is 2.7m long for easy shaping wherever you are.
They are equipped with two-zone technology – instead of one, there are two new generation heat sensors. This means they control optimal heat from root to tip for smoother, sleeker and healthier looking hair.
GHD Max Hair Straightener: Verdict
All in all, the GHD Max hair straightener is one of the best hair straighteners you can buy if you have long, thick or curly hair and are looking for an easier way to style it. They are definitely worth the investment and although they take some getting used to, you’ll never want to go back to regular straighteners. They are even equivalent to a curling wand.
